1. Sec­tion 2(n) of the Fac­to­ries Act 1948 de­fines the term "oc­cu­pier" of a fac­tory as a per­son who has ul­ti­mate con­trol over the af­fairs of the fac­tory.

2. Sec­tion 101 of the Fac­to­ries Act 1948 deals with the con­di­tions that ex­empt the oc­cu­pier or man­ager from li­a­bil­ity in cer­tain cases.



3. As per Sec­tion-3 of  Fac­to­ries Act 1948, State Gov­ern­ment power to make rules for ref­er­ences to time for a day in any area where In­dian Stan­dard Time is not or­di­nar­ily ob­served.

4. Sec­tion 4 of the Fac­to­ries Act 1948 em­power State Gov­ern­ment  to de­clare dif­fer­ent de­part­ments to be sep­a­rate fac­to­ries or two or more fac­to­ries to be a sin­gle fac­tory.

5. As per Fac­to­ries Act 1948, who shall be an In­spec­tor for his dis­trict Dis­trict Mag­is­trate.

   

6. Piece-rate work­ers are con­sid­ered work­ers as per the de­f­i­n­i­tion of 'Worker' in the Fac­to­ries Act, 1948.

7. More than 1000 is the min­i­mum num­ber of work­ers re­quired in a fac­tory for the manda­tory ap­point­ment of a Safety Of­fi­cer.

8.  The Equal Re­mu­ner­a­tion Act was en­acted by the Par­lia­ment of In­dia to give ef­fect to Ar­ti­cle 39 con­sti­tu­tional pro­vi­sions.

9. Equal pay for equal work for both men and women is a  Di­rec­tive Prin­ci­ples of State Pol­icy.

10. As per Sec­tion 2(a) of  Equal Re­mu­ner­a­tion Act, in re­la­tion to a bank­ing com­pany, the ap­pro­pri­ate gov­ern­ment means Cen­tral Gov­ern­ment.

13.  Sec­tion 4 of the Equal Re­mu­ner­a­tion Act  says about duty of em­ployer to pay equal re­mu­ner­a­tion to men and women work­ers for same work or work of sim­i­lar na­ture.

14.  Sec­tion 7 of the Equal Re­mu­ner­a­tion Act em­pow­ers ap­pro­pri­ate Gov­ern­ment to ap­point au­thor­i­ties for hear­ing and de­cid­ing claims and com­plaints.

15. If any em­ployer omits or fails to carry out nay di­rec­tion made by the ap­pro­pri­ate Gov­ern­ment un­der this Act,  he/she shall be pun­ish­able with

(a) ei­ther fine

(b) or im­pris­on­ment 
(c) both fine and im­pris­on­ment 
(d) All the above.


16. The term com­pany is de­fined un­der Sec­tion 3 (1)  sec of the Act.

17. Prop­erty of the com­pany be­longs to  Com­pany.

18. Pri­vate Com­pany  shares can be freely trans­fer­able.

19. Min­i­mum num­ber of mem­bers in case of pub­lic com­pany  is 7.

20. Min­i­mum num­ber of mem­bers in case of pri­vate com­pany is  2.

21. Max­i­mum no. of mem­bers in case of pri­vate com­pany is  50.

22. Max­i­mum no .of mem­bers in case of pub­lic com­pany is  un­lim­ited.

23. State gov­ern­ment au­thor­ity can ap­peals be made if the Chief In­spec­tor does not grant a li­cence to a fac­tory.

24. Rs.1,000  penalty payable by par­ents/guardian for per­mit­ting dou­ble em­ploy­ment of a child.

25. 4 and 1/2 hours is max­i­mum num­ber of hours that a child can be em­ployed for as per the Fac­to­ries Act, 1948.

26. Chief In­spec­tor of the State is the Chair­man of the Site Ap­praisal Com­mit­tee.

27. As per Sec­tion 6 of the Fac­to­ries Act 1948, State Gov­ern­ment has the power to make rules on ap­proval, li­cens­ing and reg­is­tra­tion of fac­to­ries.
